Linking to an institution

Optional, and what your institution receives.
2 mins read

If the institution you work with is registered on Akumo, you can connect your account to it. That is entirely optional, and nothing on Akumo depends on it.

An institution can be a university, a school, a college, an association, a publisher, a training provider or any other organisation you publish or teach under.

What it means

When your account is linked, your institution receives a share of your earnings from every sale you make. The percentage is agreed with the institution individually.

That share comes out of your side of a sale, not out of what your students pay. Prices stay exactly the same either way.

Who decides

You do, together with your institution. Some expect a share when course material is sold to their students, others do not. That is a matter between you and them, not something Akumo requires or arranges.

We only set up the connection once you tell us to.

How to link your account

You can select your institution during your application, if it is already registered on Akumo.

If you want to add it later, or change it, write to us and we will do it for you.

What institutions can see

Nothing. Institutions do not have their own access to Akumo, and they see neither your books nor your classes nor your students. They receive their share directly into their own account.

If your institution has questions about the arrangement, they are welcome to write to us.

iconAn institution share never increases the price for your students. It is part of your share, not on top of it.
