Listing your book on the marketplace
The marketplace is where other lecturers on Akumo find books for their classes. Listing a book there means your work reaches courses you do not teach yourself.
How to list a book
When you upload a book, switch on List on the Marketplace and set your marketplace price. That is what you receive every time another lecturer sells your book in one of their classes, before the Akumo share. You can only switch this on while you are uploading the book. If you want to list a book that is already published, write to us and we will do it for you.
The marketplace price is fixed once the book is published. If you want to change it later, or take the book off the marketplace, write to us and we will do it
What other lecturers see
Your cover, the title, the subject, your description, the authors and the publisher of the book, together with your marketplace price.
Only lecturers see the marketplace. Students have no access to it and never learn what you charge other lecturers. They can also contact you by email from your book's page in the marketplace, for example to ask about the content before they assign it.

What happens when someone uses it
Another lecturer assigns your book to their class and sets their own class price, which has to be at least NGN 1,000 above your marketplace price. Their students buy it there.
For every sale you receive your marketplace price, minus the Akumo share and your institution's share if you have one. The lecturer keeps the difference between their class price and your marketplace price, minus their own Akumo share. You do not have to do anything, and you see each of these sales in your earnings.
In your earnings you see your marketplace price and what is left after the Akumo share. The class price the other lecturer sets is theirs, and you do not see it.
What you are not responsible for
The forum belongs to the class, not to the book. If another lecturer teaches with your book, their students ask their questions there and that lecturer answers them. You do not see those questions.
All three at once
Nothing stops you from earning all three ways in the same semester. You might teach your own book in one class, use a marketplace book in another, and have a third lecturer teaching with your book somewhere else.
