Once a book is published, everything that belongs to the book itself goes through us. The only thing you set freely is the price in each of your classes.
What you can change yourself
The class price. When you upload a book you set a default class price, and you can change it whenever you assign the book to a class, or at any time afterwards in the class itself.
A new price only applies to future purchases. Students who already bought the book keep it at the price they paid.
What we change for you
Everything you entered when you uploaded the book. Write to us and we will take care of it:
- The book file, for example a new edition or a corrected version
- The marketplace price
- The title, subject, language, release date, number of pages or description
- The cover image
Tell us which book it concerns and what should change, and send the new file or cover along if there is one.
Archiving a book
If you no longer want a book on Akumo, we can archive it for you. It then disappears from the marketplace and from every class, and no one can buy it again.
Students who already bought it keep their access. Lecturers who were teaching with it can no longer assign it to a new class.
Archiving is not deletion. Students who paid for the book keep it, just as they would keep a printed copy.
