You never have to request a payout. Every payment a student makes is split by Paystack at the moment of purchase, and your share goes straight to your own bank account.
Setting it up
When we activate your account, you receive an email with a link to complete your profile. There you add your bank details, which we check right away to make sure the account exists.
That is all you have to do. Paystack handles every transaction from then on, and you never deal with it directly.
How a payment is split
A student pays the class price. Paystack splits that payment immediately and sends each side its share: yours to your account, the author's to theirs if the book came from the marketplace, and Akumo's share to Akumo.
Nothing is held anywhere in between. There is no balance at Akumo, no minimum amount and no payout schedule.
When the money arrives
Your share leaves with the purchase. How long it takes to appear in your account depends on Paystack and your bank, not on us.
If something does not arrive, or your bank details change, write to us and we will sort it out.
The Akumo share and taxes
The only deduction is the Akumo share, plus your institution's share if you are connected to one. Paystack's own fees are covered by Akumo.
What you earn on Akumo is your income, and taxes are your own responsibility. Your monthly statement is the document to use for that.
