How you earn on Akumo
Every sale on Akumo is one of three types, and you see that type next to each sale on your earnings page. Which one applies depends on whose book was sold and in whose class.
Own class
Your own book, sold in your own class. Your students pay your class price, and you receive it minus the Akumo share.
This is the most common case for lecturers who teach with their own material.
Marketplace
Your book, sold in someone else's class. Another lecturer took your book from the marketplace and assigned it to their class.
You receive your marketplace price for every copy sold there, minus the Akumo share. You do not have to do anything, and it works in as many classes as teach with your book.
Class margin
Someone else's book, sold in your class. You took a book from the marketplace, assigned it to your class and set your class price.
You receive the difference between your class price and the author's marketplace price, minus the Akumo share. The author receives their marketplace price.

All three at once
Nothing stops you from earning all three ways in the same semester. You might teach your own book in one class, use a marketplace book in another, and have a third lecturer teaching with your book somewhere else.
A student who already owns a book does not buy it again, so not every student in a class produces a sale.
