Three ways to use Akumo
Authors, lecturers and publishers all work with the same type of account on Akumo. What differs is how you use it. Most people start with one of the three ways below and add another later.
1. Teach with your own books
You write the books and you teach the course. You upload your book, create a class, set the price your students pay and invite them.
This is the most direct way to use Akumo. There is no one between you and your students, and your earnings come from your own class sales.
2. Teach with books from the marketplace
You teach a course but the book you need comes from someone else. You find the title in the marketplace, assign it to your class and set your own class price.
Your students buy it inside your class, and you earn the difference between your class price and the price the original author set. You never have to publish anything yourself.

3. Publish for other lecturers
You write or publish books but you do not teach. You upload your book, list it on the marketplace and set the price other lecturers pay you for every sale in their classes.
This is how most publishers use Akumo. Your book reaches classes you would never have access to yourself, and you earn on every copy sold.
When you upload a book, select Publisher as the authorship and name the authors of the work.
You can combine them
Nothing locks you into one way of working. You can teach your own book in one class, use a marketplace book in another and list your own title for other lecturers at the same time.
