Your rights as an author
Akumo is a distribution platform. You give us permission to make your book available to the students of the classes you choose. Nothing more.
The book stays yours
Your book is only visible inside the classes you assign it to. Students cannot search for it, browse a public catalogue or find it in any other way.
If you list it on the marketplace, other lecturers can assign it to their classes at the price you set. You can take it off the marketplace again at any time by contacting us.
If a book has co-authors or a publisher, you confirm when publishing that you are authorised to publish it and to receive payment on everyone's behalf. The rights stay with whoever holds them.
You can withdraw it
If you no longer want your book on Akumo, you can have it archived. It then disappears from the marketplace and cannot be assigned to any new class. Students who already bought it keep their access, just as they would keep a printed copy.
How we protect it
Students read your book in their browser. It cannot be downloaded or saved, and copying text is blocked.
